Fury and fate collide in the intense action-thriller Death Wish. Dr. Kersey is going about living his life, until one dreadful day. Paul Kersey's family is endangered, Dr. Kersey swears revenge upon those who had wronged him, and from there everything changes. He will do anything in his power to make sure these anonymous men pay. In reality i think the movie is a decent 6 or 7/10. Eli roth isnt my favorite director but i hate when people cant review a movie on the merits of the movie alone and instead look for a movie that reinforce their political beliefs. The movie is a drama(also a crime and action movie directed by a director who does mostly horror. It has its flaws, as it doesnt build to or ramp up the mom and daughters incident but only treats it as rising action for the rest of the movie. It suffers slightly from pacing and in the way it builds up tension but it is a generally good watchable movie. Some scenes are a little fantasious and require suspension of disbelief too much for how this film is built. Regardless, the story was built well with foreshadowing but again, it gets a bit unrealistic, at some points, for a film that plays out the rules as if normal life. Basically, the film on the merits is watchable and enjoyable, if youre not looking for a reaffirmation of your own political views in literally everything you watch. The technical aspects of the movie were good, the interplay of story-telling techniques were okay, but it has a few flaws as does any film but those flaws shouldnt really be enough to jar you out of the movie. Let me start by saying I love action movies and I love Bruce Willis, so perhaps I am biased. But who doesn't love action and Bruce?<br/><br/>This movie is simply great from start to finish. It is a classic, tense, suspenseful and thrilling revenge story based on an older movie, revamped for the modern day with modern touches that work really well! <br/><br/>It starts out slow but that's actually important, as it shows us how Bruce's character develops from a doctor and husband to a grieving and angry vigilante, seeking justice. Bruce gives this one of his best performances and as others have said, he is simply perfect for this role.<br/><br/>And as others have mentioned, it has everything you want from an action thriller and it is really satisfying and fun to experience. <br/><br/>I loved it and I recommend it highly! At a time when Americans are constantly bombarded with reports of unpunished police brutality, the film suggests that the true problem with justice in our country is that law enforcement isn't violent enough.
